Who am I?
In my teens and twenties I travelled as a backpacker, going off the beaten trail, travelling cheaply round the world and taking on adventure.
Then in my late twenties I got married and with my wife’s insistence started traveling with a bit more luxury, finding atmospheric places to stay, eating great food, attending the world’s great sporting events and moving with work between Australia, the USA and Europe.
And now well into my thirties I’ve got three young children, and we experience the full travel spectrum – camping, hotels, resorts – whatever works for the destination and the journey we want to take.
But for me and what I hope to inspire for you is it doesn’t matter whether you’re backpacking, on a package tour or at a 5 star hotel, with kids or without; what’s great about travel is the exploration! No matter your age, culture or wealth, discovering something new through travel is the spice of life – whether it’s a place seen, great food, culture, sports, or the journey itself.
I hope the advice, tips, information and photos on the ExplorerDad site give you the confidence and inspiration to travel widely, test your boundaries and help you explore seven continents and beyond.
